The Caltech Parking Office is beginning a program on September 7th where Caltech students, faculty, and staff can borrow a folding bike (with helmet and lock) for a bit. Borrowing a bike is free, though there is a $20 refundable deposit. There are currently 2 bikes available on a first-come-first serve basis.
The registration form is here, and you will need to pick up the bike from the Parking Office at 515 S Wilson.
For more information contact Kristina.Valenzuela AT caltech DOT edu.
So next time you find yourself down in the shop in need of a quick ride to the nearest bike store for some essential new part this may be worth checking out.
I'd also like to remind everyone that the Parking Office offers a free taxi ride home once per three month period. During the day you can contact Kristina at x4729, otherwise drop by the security office at the Holliston parking structure and they will call one for you.
